Sony Ericsson launches music ‘Mobizine’27-04-2006 - NetImperative
The ‘Mobizine’, entitled Soundtrack to Your Life, has regularly updated music editorial content such as news, reviews, gossip and interviews.
The Mobizine is made up of 4 sections Latest, Gig Previews, Club Previews and This Week’s Top Ten with 5 stories in each.
At the bottom of each story a user will find links to other stories, downloadable content or other relevant merchandising. All items will be accompanied by an image.
It has been published to promote the launch of the new Sony Ericsson W810i Walkman phone.
The mobizine, allows Sony Ericsson to showcase the multimedia features of its new phone by targeting contextual mobile adverts to music fans.
It follows Sony Ericsson’s co-sponsorship of the Glastonbury The Film tour, which showcased Julien Temple’s film throughout the UK.
The Mobizine costs between 3 and 10p depending on network, and was created in partnership with global planning and implementation agency MediaEdge:cia and content will be created daily by digital and mobile communications agency Que Pasa.
Mobizines operate on Symbian (using Macromedia Flash Lite technology) and Java-based mobile handsets. Each handset can store multiple Mobizines, and some handsets can store up to 50 individual Mobizines.
Developed by Refresh Mobile, Mobizines let consumers receive mini versions of branded content on their mobile. There are 17 titles live including traditional publishing brands such as Conde Nast, BBC and Time Out.
